TVS Motors June sales marginally down

Two-and-three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company on Monday registered a marginal decline in sales in June at 1,64,128 units.

The city-headquartered firm had sold 1,68,693 units during the same month of previous year, a company statement said.

Total sales of two-wheelers continued to decline for the company in June, 2013 by selling 1,57,351 units as against 1,65,438 units sold during the same month of previous year.

Two-wheelers domestic sales slipped to 1,37,331 units in June, 2013 from 1,47,893 units, sold during the same period of previous year.

Sales of motorcycles stood at 59,015 units in June against 61,274 units in June 2012.

However, sales of scooters marginally grew to 38,684 units from 38,166 units sold during the same month of the previous year.

The company said its total exports grew by 31.8 per cent in June to 26,047 units from 19,750 units sold during the same month of previous year.

Sales of two-wheelers in the overseas markets rose to 14.1 per cent to 20,020 units from 17,545 units, sold in June 2012.

On sales of its three-wheelers, the company said it grew 108.2 per cent in June 6,777 units from 3,255 units sold during the same month of last year.
