TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 46 per cent increase in its total sales at 2,27,482 units in August 2014.
The Chennai-based company had sold 1,55,532 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Total two-wheeler sales increased by 47 per cent to 2,17,662 units in August 2014 as against 1,48,469 units in the same month a year ago.
Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,90,547 units last month, up 50 per cent, from 1,27,095 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooters sales during the month grew by 84 per cent to 67,240 units in August 2014 as against 36,478 units in the corresponding month last year.
Motorcycles sales grew by 36 per cent to 83,332 units in last month as compared to 61,313 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
During the month, sales of three-wheelers grew by 39 per cent at 9,820 units as against 7,063 units in August 2013.
Exports in August grew by 28 per cent to 35,074 units in the month as compared to 27,425 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
