Tech Mahindra, Alstom start development centre

IT services firm Tech Mahindra, on Wednesday, announced a new global development centre in partnership with rail technology leader Alstom Transport. The centre will be located in Bangalore.

The companies inked a three-year partnership agreement for the development centre that will cover engineering activities on concept-to- prototype build, Tech Mahindra said in a release. Karthikeyan Natarajan, Global Head, Integrated Engineering Solutions, Tech Mahindra, said: “The global development centre enables us to accelerate joint development of integrated engineering solutions that deliver unique value to our customers.”

Pierre Gosset, Engineering Vice-President, Rolling Stock and Components at Alstom Transport, said that Tech Mahindra was primarily partnering with its existing Interiors Centre of Excellence.

“This is also a further step of our engineering ramp-up in India,’’ he added.

Leading bourses BSE and NSE have given approval for the merger of Mahindra Engineering Services with Tech Mahindra saying that the amalgamation does not violate securities laws norm. The boards of Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Engineering Services Ltd. (MES) had approved the proposal in November.

The exchanges said on Friday that they are granting ‘no-objection approval’ to the proposed scheme.
