Tata Motors said it will continue its association with Lionel Messi after the Argentinian announced his retirement from international soccer following his national team’s defeat in the Copa America final. “It does not change our association,” a Tata Motors spokesperson said. Mr. Messi, who was appointed Tata Motors’s global brand ambassador to revive the flagging fortunes of its passenger car business, has been paid about Rs.15 crore as annual brand endorsement fee for a two-year contract.
