Sanjiv Mehta to be new MD

Hindustan Unilever (HUL), on Friday, announced that Nitin Paranjpe, who is currently the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, will move to the parent company and join Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE) as President, Home Care.

A statement from HUL said Mr. Paranjpe would take over at his new position from October 1, 2013.

Mr. Paranjpe will be replaced by Sanjiv Mehta, who is currently Chairman, North Africa & Middle East (NAME). Besides taking over as Managing Director & CEO of HUL, Mr. Mehta will also be responsible for South Asia cluster, which includes India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

“The changes reflect our strong commitment towards leadership development, and our tradition of leveraging experiences and synergies of talent across markets,” Harish Manwani, Chairman, HUL, said in a statement.
