Fortis Healthcare on Wednesday said Renuka Ramnath has resigned from the expert panel set up to evaluate bids to buy the company.

The move comes just before the panel submitting its recommendation to Fortis board on April 26.

Ms. Renuka Ramnath excused herself from being the member of the committee due to her pre-occupation, Fortis said in a stock exchange announcement.

The same will be tabled before the Board at the scheduled meeting on April 26, 2018 for their consideration and vacancy so caused shall be filled, by the board with a person of eminent repute, it added.

On April 19, Fortis board had decided to form the expert panel headed by Deepak Kapoor, former chairman and CEO of Price Waterhouse Coopers, India to evaluate the bids.

Five firms Manipal Hospitals and TPG consortium, IHH Healthcare Berhad, Fosun Health Holdings Limited of China and Hero Enterprise Investment Office-Burman Family Office combine, KKR-backed Radiant Life Care are in the fray to buy the firm.
