Reliance Jio Infocomm has entered into a pan-India tower infrastructure sharing agreement with Viom Networks to use the telecom-tower provider’s 42,000 towers across India.
Through this Master Services Agreement, Reliance Jio intends to expedite the launch of its 4G broadband and voice services. The company has not specified the timing of the launch.
Viom Networks is a joint venture of Tata Teleservices and SREI Infrastructure. It is India’s largest independent telecommunications infrastructure company.
“This agreement is in line with our mission of a pan-India launch spanning next-generation voice and data services and leveraging existing telecom infrastructure,” said Sanjay Mashruwala, Managing Director, Reliance Jio.
“We look forward to partnering Viom Networks for rolling out services across the country,” he added.

Reliance Jio is the first telecom operator to hold pan-India unified licence. The company had already entered into telecom tower and optical fibre network infrastructure sharing agreements with Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel.
