Reliance Communications Ltd (RCom) has announced the launch of ‘One India, One Rate’ plans, a free national roaming offer for its post-paid and pre-paid GSM customers.

Under this offer, there will be no difference between local, STD and roaming charges, and customers will be charged only their home plan tariffs, even while roaming anywhere in the country.

“We are delighted to launch the One India, One Rate Plans in the country, which abolish differentiated tariffs for roaming, STD and local calls in India. When business has no boundaries, then tariffs should also be seamless and customer-friendly, thus, incoming calls while roaming will now be free on the RCom network,” Gurdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Business, RCom, said. “These plans will help us attract customers in the high-value corporate and SME roaming segments.

“Our plans will help us break down the tariff barriers and extend unprecedented benefits to our roaming customers,” he added.

RCom has introduced two plans for its post-paid customers — One India, One Rate Rs.350 (700 minutes free outgoing, the minutes can be used anytime, anywhere for local, STD and roaming, 200 minutes free incoming roaming, 1 GB free data and 100 free SMS) and One India, One Rate Rs.599 (1,200 minutes free outgoing and the minutes can be used anytime, anywhere for local, STD and roaming, free incoming roaming, 2GB of 3G or 2G data and 100 SMS free).

The pre-paid plan under ‘The One India, One Rate’ starts at Rs.45, under which all outgoing local, STD and roaming calls will cost 40 paise per minute, while incoming roaming is free. The pre-paid plan has a validity of 30 days.

With these plans, RCom said its customers would no longer have to worry about using their phone while roaming or making STD calls and using data services. Non-Reliance customers can also avail themselves of these plans on their existing mobile numbers by porting-into Reliance, the company said.
