Porsche India launches new versions of Cayenne

Luxury car maker, Porsche, a division of Volkswagen Group, launched the all-new luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV), Cayenne.

Porsche on Tuesday launched four versions of the vehicle in India. The Cayenne Diesel priced at Rs. 1.021 crore, the Cayenne S Diesel priced at Rs. 1.21 crore, the Cayenne S priced at Rs. 1.185 crore and the Cayenne Turbo priced at Rs. 1.78 crore (all prices ex-Maharashtra).

A statement from Porsche said that in its latest version, the Cayenne has bi-xenon headlights and four-point LED daytime running lights. The license plate, boot handle and lights are integrated into the boot lid. Among other modifications, the newly developed exhaust tailpipes are incorporated in the lower rear section, while automatically activating boot lid is fitted as standard.

In a statement, Anil Reddi, Director, Porsche India, said, “The new Porsche Cayenne embodies the ultimate Porsche traits, class-leading performance and outstanding driveability. No matter the road conditions, the new Cayenne delivers a unique automotive experience and we expect our customers to share in the excitement around this thrilling evolution.’’

The new diesel versions are more fuel efficient. The three-litre V6 engine in Cayenne Diesel has a fuel consumption of 7.7 litres/100 km and can accelerate from 0-100 km in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 218 km/hour. The 4.2 litre V8 engine in the Cayenne S Diesel has a fuel consumption of 8 litres per 100 km and reaches 100 km/hour in 5.4 second with a top speed of 252 km/hour.

The all-new 3.6 litre V6 bi-turbo engine of the Cayenne S with a fuel consumption between 9.5 and 9.8 litres per 100 km, accelerating from 0-100 km/hour in 5.5 seconds which is 0.4 seconds faster than the previous Cayenne S. It has a top speed of 259 km/hour.

The top-end Cayenne Turbo is powered by a 4.8 litre bi-turbo V8 engine with a top speed of 279 km/hour and accelerates from 0-100 km/hour in 4.5 seconds.

All Porsche models are available from the company’s eight authorized sales and service dealers in India.
