Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), on Tuesday, announced that it had struck natural gas in the KG basin next to RIL’s D6 block.

In a statement here, the company said it had found gas in an appraisal well drilled on the block KG-DWN-98/2, where it had earlier made nine gas discoveries. This was the second appraisal well in the block, and will give a significant boost to ONGC’s efforts to monetise discoveries in Northern Discovery Area of this block, it said.
