Ola unveils luxury taxi service in Mumbai

One can hire a Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota Fortuner or a Honda Accord through this service.

Taxi app Ola has introduced its newest service category, ‘Ola Lux’ in Mumbai offering luxury cars and Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) on demand to customers. The cars one can hire under this service include Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota Fortuner and Honda Accord, Ola said.

Ola Lux is available for booking at a minimum fare of Rs. 200 and Rs. 19 per/km. A ride time charge of Rs. 2 per minute is also applicable.

To begin with this service is available in South Mumbai and will be expanded to other parts of the city and country in due course. Raghuvesh Sarup, Head of Categories and Chief Marketing Officer, Ola said, “Lux is a brand new category from Ola that brings unmatched style and comfort for those who demand it.”

“Ola has always focused on providing superior in-cab experience, and choices to suit the need, usage occasion and mood of its customers. Ola Lux is an offering in that direction, at the high end,” he said.

This service is targeted at young executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who may need luxury sedans for city travel. The Lux icon would appears on the Ola app when the customer is in one of the designated areas in Mumbai.

Features like driver details being displayed upfront, SOS buttons, AutoConnect Wifi, live tracking and seamless payment using Ola Money will continue to be available on Ola Lux, the company said. Ola’s other services include Micro, Mini taxis and auto-rickshaws.
