Rising costs force Nissan to hike prices

Nissan India and Tata Motors have announced increases in the prices of their vehicles from April 1, due to rising input costs.

Nissan India said the prices would rise up to 2% across all its models of Nissan and Datsun vehicles. “Due to rising input costs, we will be increasing the price of our Nissan and Datsun cars with effect from April 2018.” said Jerome Saigot, MD, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. "We are confident that our cars will continue to offer excellent value and choice to our customers," he added.

Nissan currently offers the Micra, Sunny and the Terrano. Datsun offers the Datsun GO, GO+ and redi-GO to Indian customers.

Tata Motors too announced it would increase the prices of its entire range of passenger vehicles by up to ₹60,000 (depending on the model) with effect from April 1.
