New CEO for Mahindra Reva

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the country’s leading sports utility vehicle manufacturer, on Wednesday announced that Chetan Maini, CEO, Mahindra Reva, a pioneer in electric vehicle manufacturing in India, will move to a new and diversified role within the Mahindra Group.

A company statement said he would be replaced by Arvind Mathew as CEO of M&M’s electric vehicle subsidiary. Both roles would be effective May 1, 2015.

Mr. Maini will continue to be associated with Mahindra Reva and Formula E-racing in an advisory capacity. "Chetan will have a wider role in the Group and will be responsible for incubating new technology ventures and he will lead other technology initiatives of the Group," the statement said.

Mr. Mathew has over two decades experience with Ford Motor Company and was President and MD of Ford India in 2005. In his last role, we was CEO, Tata Advanced Materials.

In a statement, Dr. Pawan Goenka, ED, M&M said, "Chetan Maini has been synonymous with electric vehicle technology and his vision and expertise has been instrumental in pioneering innovations in this space. While welcoming Arvind to the Mahindra family, I am sure he will take Mahindra Reva to newer heights with his diverse international exposure, technical background and proven ability to drive innovation and growth."
