Mercedes sees good sales for new-gen cars

February 13, 2015 11:05 pm | Updated 11:05 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Mercedes-Benz India has said that it continued to record double digit growth in sales. Its January 2015 sales grew by 25 per cent, supported by CLA-Class sedan (priced above Rs.32 lakh), launched during the month, and luxury sport utility vehicle GLA-Class, launched in October 2014. With the introduction of NGCs (new generation cars) such as CLA and GLA, the average age of Mercedes-Benz customer has dropped from earlier 40+ years to 35 years now. We expect our NGC volumes to grow by 50 per cent in 2015 and CLA and GLA will be playing a major role in this growth,” said a company statement.
