Merc starts assembling S-Class in Pune

Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India has started assembling locally the new S-Class at its facility in Pune. The S-Class is the most powerful luxury car to be produced in India, according to a company statement. It has a waiting period of about three months. The new S 500 is priced at Rs.1.36 crore, ex-showroom Mumbai.

“Quality has all along been the strength of Mercedes-Benz India, and the new S 500 production in India is set to take this success story even further,” Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said in a statement, adding, “this also reiterates our commitment to bring world-class manufacturing facilities in India to support our growth in the luxury automotive business”.

The company also introduced a ‘Chauffeur Training program’ for chauffeurs of the new S-Class customers.
