KVB Q2 profit down 37.6 %

Karur Vysya Bank has reported a 37.6 per cent drop in its net profit at Rs. 82.89 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2013, against Rs. 132.76 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Net interest income increased by 4.41 per cent to Rs. 298.38 crore from Rs. 285.77 crore in the year-ago period. The total business of the bank stood at Rs. 75,281 crore as on September 30, 2013, against Rs. 59,121 crore as on September 30, 2012. The gross NPA increased to 1.55 per cent from 1.26 per cent and the net NPA stood at 0.51 per cent against 0.32 per cent.

BGR Energy Q2 net up

BGR Energy Systems has reported a 32 per cent rise in its second quarter revenues at Rs. 826.28 crore, against Rs. 627.26 crore in the year-ago period. Construction and EPC contracts segment contributed 95.5 per cent to the revenues. The net profit after tax stood at Rs. 35.07 crore (Rs. 34.73 crore). During the quarter, the company successfully completed trial run of its first EPC project of 1 X 600MW for Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation at Mettur, Tamil Nadu.
