Khadim founder S P Roy Burman passes away

The founder and chairman emeritus of Khadim India Limited, industrialist Satya Prasad Roy Burman, passed away today after battling prolonged illness, his family said.

He was 83. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Mr. Burman had conceptualised ‘affordable fashion footwear’ which had placed Khadim on the leather industry map of India.

His journey began after buying KM Khadim & Company, an ordinary footwear shop in Chitpur, Kolkata in 1965.

Khadim retail started in 1993 and now is a 600 outlet footwear chain across the country.
