The net profit of Jayshree Tea, a B. K. Birla group company, has dipped by 92 per cent to Rs.3.30 crore in 2013-14 from Rs.40.10 crore in 2012-13 even as revenue increased by a modest 7 per cent, touching Rs.743.60 crore. The company said that the reasons for lower profitability were reduced crop in Cachar in Assam, dull market for sugar sale, lowering of subsidy on P&K fertilizers by the government.
