ITC to unveil premium coffee brand ‘Sunbean’

Non-cigarette revenue of Rs.23,000 crore in 2015-16 is targeted to touch Rs.1 lakh crore by 2030

ITC will soon unveil its ‘Sunbean’ brand of premium coffee even as it tests water in ‘super-safe’ spices, fruits and vegetables, according to company chairman Y. C. Deveshwar. He also said that the cigarette business has grown for the company.

Cold chain

Addressing shareholders at the company’s annual general meeting, he said that ITC is exploring an opportunity to invest in a cold chain to cover farm produce, including fresh, frozen and de-hydrated fruits and vegetables. On the coffee launch, he said that ITC Hotels’ expertise in coffee and in global trading in agri-commodities would help. ITC has already entered the chocolates segment.

“I expect higher success in processed spices and chocolate,” Abneesh Roy, research analyst at Edelweiss said.
