IndiGo, the largest domestic carrier by market share, on Tuesday said it will enhance frequency on its Mumbai-Muscat sector to non-stop daily flights from June 16 to consolidate its presence in the Gulf market.

The airline currently operates four flights a week on the sector and 17 daily flights in all between India and the Gulf.

“Effective June 16, the airline will launch three new weekly non-stop flights on the Mumbai-Muscat route,” IndiGo said in a statement.

With the addition of these flights, IndiGo will operate 422 daily flights across 33 destinations including overseas with a fleet of 66 Airbus 320 aircraft, it said.

The new service from the city will compliment the airline’s existing daily Gulf operations to Muscat and Dubai from several cities in India, the airline said.
