Honda Cars India Ltd on Tuesday reported 88 per cent increase in its domestic sales at 10,354 units for September 2013.

The company had sold 5,508 units in the same month last year, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) said in a statement.

During September, the company sold 2,043 units of its sedan City and 1,452 units of small car Brio. It also sold 46 units of premium sedan Accord.

Besides, HCIL sold 6,679 units of its latest sedan Amaze last month.

The company sold 134 units of its CRV sports utility vehicle in September 2013. In addition to these sales, the company also exported a total of 701 units during September 2013.

Commenting on the numbers, HCIL Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said, “Honda Cars have outperformed despite a consistent slump in the demand for passenger cars over the past eight months. We are happy to see the huge demand for the Honda Amaze and Brio. The sales figures have set a positive tone for the upcoming festive season.”
