The Centre has decided to revive some of its sick undertakings, including several units of HMT, in the near future.

The Department of Public Enterprises Secretary, O. P. Rawat, said that the proposals to revive about half-a-dozen sick units were in the process.

He said the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE) had already recommended the revival of HMT Ltd., Hindustan Cables Ltd. (HCL) and Hindustan Photo Films Manufacturing Company. The Union Government was working out the details before making the necessary financial commitment.
