Having exited from a distribution pact with Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) last year, Hager Group of France, a player in the electrical distribution space , has set in motion a strategy to grow its business all alone in India.
Hager Group’s Indian subsidiary, Hager Electro Private Ltd., is now expanding its base in terms of opening offices in key markets as well as enhancing manpower, product range and the number of distributors to build volume.
The company, which so far has been focusing on the premium market, is expanding into the mid-market segment.
“For the past five years, we were growing by 14 per cent per year, and for this year, we are targeting 40 per cent growth.
“Every partnership has limitations, and now that we have come out of it (L&T), we expect very high growth. We have established a network of over 250 channel partners in India, and will open sales offices in many locations to achieve our target,” said Praveen Kumar Nair, Head of Sales & Marketing Hager India.
“Our goal is to be a solutions provider and address new segments and a larger clientele,” said Benoit Lecuyer, Managing Director, Hager India.
Hager India currently has around 300 employees.
