Godrej Security Solutions (GSS) on Thursday announced the launch of personal locker Goldilocks that enable a customer to keep his daily valuables in a safe and secure mode. These lockers are manufactured in Mumbai.

The personal locker, which weighs about 5 kg, is priced at Rs.6,499. It is available in white and black metallic colours. Goldilocks is equipped with touch-panel access control and a smart sensor that triggers an alarm, if some tries to tamper with it.

In the next six months, GSS plans to sell one lakh units of Goldilocks, of which South will account for 40,000 lockers.

Talking to reporters, GSS, Associate Vice President & Head – Marketing, Mehernosh B. Pithawalla said that the Godrej was a pioneer and market leader of home safe products in India. The penetration level of home safe products was lower at 2.5 per cent. GSS was planning to double its market size by launching newer versions in the coming months. The list included table top models and wall mounted version for multiple users. It will have more colours and innovative features.

“The market size of home safe products is about Rs.200 crore. Last year, we clocked Rs.120 crore. This year, we expect a 35-40 per cent increase in our turnover to Rs.170 crore. Though we export different types of locking solutions, Goldilocks will not be exported for the time being,” he said.

GSS exports its products mainly to SAARC, Asia Pacific, Middle East and European countries. Last year, GSS exported products worth Rs.70 crore against Rs.55 crore in the previous year,” he said.
