Getit Infomedia, the local discovery company that owns online properties such as Yellow Pages and AskMe, has been reducing its organisational flab over the last one year as it readies for a digital, mobile-first push in the next two months.
According to CEO Jaspreet Bindra, there has been a fairly cataclysmic change since he took over last year.
The company, which was one of the earliest movers in the classifieds and local information services space, has a number of services ranging from online shopping mall to website building tools.
“You will see a sharply defined and differentiated approach in the coming months. It will be a digital and mobile push. It’s true that we have tried a number of products in different directions… some of the things which don’t work out will demise,” Mr. Bindra told The Hindu on Wednesday.
In the past one year, the company has outsourced everything that is not related to its brand, marketing, sales and products.
“We’ve brought in some new mid and senior management. We have also outsourced a number of things such as fulfilment, which includes the website building, our call centres, sales training and so on,” he said.
As part of the company’s new approach, it has entered into a strategic partnership with telecom operator Aircel, in which both companies would come together to tap the small and medium enterprises (SME) market.
Under the partnership, AskMe will promote registered SMEs through its various channels, and Aircel will offer easy lead payment solutions on SME pre-paid or post-paid connections.
From the consumer side, customers will be able to connect with a seller or service that they are looking for as a result of this partnership.
