Automobile major FCA India has introduced its locally made SUV Jeep Compass in the Indian market at a price starting ₹14.95 lakh (ex-showroom-Delhi).

The topmost model is priced at ₹20.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

“Due to the overwhelming public response to the Jeep Compass, coupled with a significant number of pre-bookings and enquiries, we have decided to advance the price announcement so that potential customers can finalise their purchase decisions,” Kevin Flynn, president and MD, FCA India said.

Earlier, analysts had expected that the SUV would be priced at about ₹25 lakh. However, FCA preferred to keep the margins low to take on competition.

The company has already received more than 5,000 bookings and deliveries will begin nationwide from August 6. The company will deliver the diesel variants right away and the petrol vehicles will be delivered around Diwali, acording to top company officials.

The company is set to expand its dealer network to 60, from 50 currently, by the end of this calendar year for wider distribution of its products, they said.

The Jeep Compass range is available in three ranges — Sport, Longitude and Limited (top of the line) — and in combination of ten variants.

The SUV will be available with a three-year, or 100,000 km, manufacturer’s warranty, and in addition, a complimentary road-side assistance package for three years. Buyers can avail of an extended warranty programme for additional warranty of

up to one or two years, the company said.
