Eveready Industries India Ltd (EIIL) has closed the third quarter with a 9.7 per cent growth in its topline and a tripling of its bottomline (net profit) aided mainly by progressive price hikes in batteries — its main product.

Although EIIL sells over 1.2 billion batteries and 25 million flashlights annually, it has of late expanded its product range to include lamps, power packs for mobile phones, and rechargeable fans. These are now supporting the company well.

The operating income stood at Rs.325.4 crore during the third quarter, rising by 9.7 per cent over the same quarter in 2013-14. The net profit during this period stood at Rs.15.30 crore against Rs.4.50 crore a year ago.
