Digital imaging company Epson on Wednesday said it aimed to achieve up to 25 per cent growth in revenues during the current fiscal, driven by the launch of its M-series range of monochrome inkjet printers targeted at corporate users.

“We are optimistic of a 20-25 per cent growth this fiscal, and the launch of M-series printers will help us achieve this,” Epson India Deputy General Manager, Consumer Product Group, S. M. Ramprasad told reporters here.

The colour ink tank system printers launched earlier by the company were well accepted by consumers and had contributed to the company’s revenue growth, he added.

“Thanks to these product introductions, we have a 33.8 per cent value share in the Inkjet printer market in India. The M-series printers will add to this now,” he said.

The company’s revenues stood at about Rs.703 crore in 2012-13 fiscal. While consumer product group accounts for 49 per cent of the firm’s revenues, business product group contributes 51 per cent.

The newly launched M-series range of printers are for corporates who primarily print black and white documents and demand the lowest running costs possible, Mr. Ramprasad said.

The company launched two models under the M series — M100 single function mono ink tank system priced at Rs.9,999 and Epson M200 all-in-one mono ink tank system printer priced at Rs.13,999. It claims that printing a single page on these devices would cost about 12 paise.

Mr. Ramprasad said, “SMBs will be the first target to sell our products as conversions are easier and faster at small business, and big industries will follow.”

The company plans to launch about 8-9 printers across categories by the end of December this year.
