‘Entry-level salaries to remain same’

July 24, 2013 12:21 am | Updated 12:21 am IST - CHENNAI:

Bad news for fresh IT graduates. Entry-level salaries are unlikely to see a rise in the next couple of years, according to Capgemini India CEO Aruna Jayanthi.

“We’ve not seen any change in the last two years and we don’t see much opportunity for it to move in the near-future. This is mainly because the supply is quite high,” Ms. Jayanthi said, in an interaction with The Hindu .

However, the Capgemini India boss said, we “remain committed to our hiring target…that will not slow down”

The IT company had earlier set a target of hiring nearly 28,000 people by 2015.

“People talk about difficult market conditions present in U.S and Europe, but if I look at in terms of in impact on off-shoring, I think the environment is pretty stable,” she said.
