German waste water pump maker HOMA Pumpenfabrik GmbH plans to spend ₹150 crore on expanding business worldwide, including in India, in about four years, a top official said.

“We have a large investment plan for the whole group of companies,” Klaus Hoffman, CEO of HOMA, said on Tuesday. “Internationally, we are investing ₹150 crore. Part of it will go into the JV. We want to set up a production facility here and develop it step by step.”

HOMA, which has set up a new production facility in Germany, will spend a part of the amount for a joint venture (JV) in India with the Ekki Group. HOMA, whose products are sold in more than 100 countries, also plans to set up a sales company in China. However, the company will have the first JV plant in India.

In India, HOMA will spend on machinery, tools, patterns and training people. Ekki will take care of marketing. The JV, to be known as Ekki Homa Private Limited, will start making pumps from 2020 for waste water treatment at houses, apartments, industries and sewage plants.

The German company will transfer the technology and know-how to India for pumps to be made here.
