Duty on STPP imports from China proposed

The Commerce and Industry Ministry has recommended to the Finance Ministry imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of a chemical from China used in household cleaning products.

Acting on the complaints by Tata Chemicals and based on preliminary findings, the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has recommended a provisional duty of up to $0.671 a kg on import of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) from China.

“The DGAD considers it necessary and recommends imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of subject goods (STPP) from the subject country,” a Commerce Ministry notification said.
