Nearly two quarters after acquiring a minority stake in global analytics solutions company Opera Solutions, Wipro has doubled its stake in the company.

The company, in May, 2013, had acquired a 6.5 per cent stake in the New Jersey-headquartered company for about $30 million.

The stake has been increased to 12.5 per cent, Wipro CFO Suresh Senapathy told reporters on the sidelines of the company’s earnings announcement earnings on Tuesday. Brushing aside speculation in the market on a major acquisition by Wipro, he also said that the company did not plan to either acquire the company or further increase stake . Mr. Senapathy also confirmed that Wipro’s VP (Investor Relations) Sridhar Ramasubbu has quit Wipro and is slated to join as CFO at Opera.
