Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., on Friday, announced that 1.22 million units of Corolla were sold worldwide in 2013, a 5 per cent year-on-year increase.

Thanks to the recent re-design, Corolla’s global cumulative sales since its introduction in 1966 topped 40.72 million units as on February. The details of Corolla’s sales come even as Toyota customers in India look forward to hear from the company about the delivery schedules and pricing of the new Corolla Altis.

At the Auto Expo in Greater Noida in early February, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said while the bookings were open, the price would be announced along with the sales launch and deliveries in May.

With only a few weeks left, TKM plants in Bidadi, near here, are witnessing production slips due to the labour issues, something that may come in the way of the launch.
