Coal India misses production, offtake targets in October

November 04, 2013 06:11 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 08:15 pm IST - KOLKATA:

Coal India Ltd. (CIL) lost five million tonnes of production due to rains in October.

None of the eight coal producing companies under CIL could meet their production targets. All eastern region coal companies were worse off due to the heavy monsoons.

CIL ended the month with a production of 35 million tonnes against a target of 40.8 million tonnes fulfilling only 86 per cent of its target.

Cumulative growth

The cumulative growth rate for April-October thus stood at 3.6 per cent making fulfilment of the year’s production target an uphill task.
