CII plans IT summit in Kerala capital

Showcasing the potential of Kerala to emerge as a major destination of Information Technology, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has decided to host a national IT summit here on December 10 and 11 with the support of the state IT department and entrepreneurs.

Besides showcasing the latest trends in the IT sector in India, the event would seek to market Kerala as an important destination for investment in IT and allied areas, the organizers said here in a press release.

As many as 300 senior executives from IT sector and the user industry, as well as decision—makers and policy framers from the government and Public Sector Undertakings would attend the meet seen as a platform to facilitate networking and sharing of ideas and information, V K Mathews, convener for the event and state IT secretary Ajay Kumar said.

The event would be an opportunity for investors and executives to work out perspective plants on taking the IT sector in the post-recession period, Mathews, group chairman of the Technopark-based IBS, said.
