The Chennai-based Valeth Hightech Composites Pvt. Ltd. is setting up a unit in Hyderabad to meet the growing needs of aerospace and defence sectors in the domestic and international markets.
Valeth group makes advanced composite materials and products for a variety of applications. The Hyderabad unit, which will have an investment of around Rs.30-40 crore, is expected to become operational in a year, .
The group is also setting up a unit in Bangkok by investing Rs.15-20 crore to service the South-East Asia, Middle East and European markets. It will start producing high temperature technical textiles such as silica fabric and silica tiles for use in space and aerospace in the next 12 to 18 months, according to its Chairman Peter P. Valeth.
Valeth’s boat division at Aluva in Kochi was in the process of building 16 hi-speed surveillance boats for Navy, he said. It would also develop rayon-based carbon fabric, an essential material for thermal protection system of satellite launch vehicle, he added. “As part of our expansion and diversification plans, we have entered into aviation sector, assembling fully composite two-seater aircrafts as a licensed dealer for assembly and sale of micro-light aircrafts,” he said.
