TiECON Chennai 2012, a two-day event being organised here next month, will serve as a forum for entrepreneurs, particularly those emerging and looking for funding and handholding, to interact with captains of the industry and thought leaders.
The flagship event of TiE Chennai, a part of the global not-for-profit organisation The Indus Entrepreneurs, is to be held on December 3 and 4. This year the theme would be ‘powering the next step’.
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, TiE Chennai President Lakshmi Narayanan and the event chairman R. Ramaraj said the programme would help entrepreneurs establish connections and pitch to investors. Around 1,000 delegates comprising business leaders, entrepreneurs, representatives of venture capital funds, angel investors, regulators and bankers were expected to participate. At least 25 VCs and angel investors would be participating.
The discussions would lay emphasis on the challenges faced by both emerging and established entrepreneurs, on taking their enterprise to the next level, a press release said. The speakers include GMR group Chairman and Managing Director G. M. Rao, Mindtree Chairman Subroto Bagchi and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The ‘Power Pitch Fest’, to be held on December 3, would provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to present their business plans to multiple VCs and angel investors. TiE would announce winners of this year’s TiE Chennai Entrepreneur Awards and release a directory of entrepreneurs.
Mr. Narayanan said after opening access to capital for the entrepreneurs TiE Chennai, in partnership with other TiE, was taking measures to provide market access too.
