BSNL to hike landline, broadband rentals

India’s largest state-owned telecommunications service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has decided to increase the landline and broadband monthly tariff from March 1 across the country.

“One India monthly plan for landline will be revised from Rs 180 to Rs 195,” BSNL CGM (Kolkata) Gautam Chakraborty told PTI.

The fixed monthly charge for limited usage broadband plans has similarly been increased. The revision is between Rs 24 and Rs 350 depending on the scheme, he added.

The Rs 250 plan will now cost Rs 275, Rs 600 plan will get revised to Rs 630 while, the Rs 400 plan will cost Rs 424, Rs 2,799 and Rs 3,699 plans will be dearer by Rs 200 a month, he said.

The Rs 4,999 and 6,999 plans will get hiked by Rs 250 and Rs 350 a month, he added.
