BigTree Entertainment buys majority stake in Eventifier

The deal will see the current investors Kae Capital, Accel Partners and The Startup Centre exit the firm

BigTree Entertainment, which owns online entertainment ticketing portal BookMyShow, bought a majority stake in Bengaluru-based Eventifier. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The undisclosed deal will see the current investors Kae Capital, Accel Partners and The Startup Centre exit the firm, the company said in a statement.

Eventifier, is a over 2-year-old social media analytics start-up. The firm helps consolidate, track and analyse content feed on social media platforms during a targeted social media campaign.

The firm has over 1,500 clients, including blue chip companies such as Pearson, UBM Tech, Clinton Foundation and NASA.

Expanding Clientele 

“We shall be operating independently as a company, and will continue to cater to customers globally. We have a long vision in coming years along with BookMyShow, and by combining forces, we believe, we can scale Eventifier and cater to a larger audience in coming years,” Jazeel Ferry, Founder & CEO of Eventifier, said. He also said the deal with help Eventifier to enter into areas such as cinema and sports leagues.

This is the second acquisition by BigTree Entertainment after its buy-out of Chennai-based online ticketing portal Ticket Green in March 2013.
