Global vision care major Bausch & Lomb has entered into a partnership with technology firm Bosch to market the latter’s digital Fundus camera in India and SAARC region.

Digital Fundus eye camera, a compact retina device with a special software that can detect conditions like cataract at an early stage, operates on a rechargeable battery, thus making it lightweight and portable.

The findings from the camera can be shared over tele-medicine using the MediBilder software.

The move would help Bausch & Lomb to further strengthen its portfolio in the opthalmic diagnostic devices market.

“Our partnership with Bosch is in line with our strategic expansion plans,” Bausch & Lomb managing director (India and SAARC) Sanjay Bhutani, said in a statement.

“We look to leverage this partnership as it would help us reach out to a larger population and thereby prevent the incidence of avoidable blindness and vision impairment in the country,” Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions MD Vijay Ratnaparkhe said.
