Bandhan applies for formal banking licence

Bandhan Financial Services, which had received a provisional licence from the Reserve Bank of India for launching banking business last April, has now applied for its formal licence. This follows hitting all the major milestones needed for this, including branch infrastructure, human resources, IT infrastructure and the framing of credit and deposit policies. “Yes, we have applied for the formal banking licence” Bandhan Chairman and Managing Director Chandra Sekhar Ghosh said.
