Bajaj Auto has come out with ‘Discover 125 T’, its latest addition to the Discover range of motorcycles. Launching the product here on Wednesday, Aswin Jaikanth, General Manager (South), said the product, powered by Bajaj’s patented 4-valve DTS-i engine, was the extension of the new Discover platform offering a mix of great performance, superior mileage and attractive styling.
He said the year 2012-13 saw the launch of a new range of Discover, including sporty Discover 125 ST and Discover 100 T. “The new Discover 125 T completes the range, and gives consumers a number of options in terms of price and performance points,” he said.
Discover 125 T was 30 per cent more powerful than the competition, Mr. Jaikanth claimed.
The features include sporty 5-speed transmission, gas-charged Nitrox suspension, petal disc brake, flicker-free DC headlamp, and electric start.
The bike combined sports features with the benefits of day-to-day biking, he said.
Discover 125 T is available in four colours with a choice of two variants. The disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 54,022, and the drum brake Rs. 57,070 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
The company could sell 4.50 lakh units of Discover range of motorcycles nationally since May 2012. The advent of Pulsar range of motorcycles a decade ago created the sports segment, and the company was continuously commanding a market share of 45 per cent and above in the segment, Mr. Jaikanth said. In 2012-13, Bajaj Auto sold about 24.6 lakh bikes.
