PC-maker Asus is looking to roll out the second generation of the Google-Nexus 7 tablet by the end of the year in India, a move that comes after the first generation was marked by long delays and pricing issues.

This comes after Google Chairman Eric Schmidt’s recent visit to India, where he stated that better availability of the Nexus devices in India was a priority. The original Nexus 7, which was manufactured for Google by Asus, has performed well in the Indian market, and has met the company’s internal targets, according to Peter Chang, Country Manager for Asus India. “The process for the second generation is under control, and, hopefully, by our fourth quarter, we will be introduce it to India,” Mr. Chang said, in an interaction with The Hindu, after the launch of the company’s second exclusive store here.
