March 28, 2014 01:13 am | Updated May 23, 2016 06:39 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The Income Tax authorities have reattached Nokia India Private Ltd’s asset in Sriperumbudur for six more months, as the tax dispute is yet to be resolved.

According to sources, the I-T department has sent letters to the District Registrar Office in Kancheepuram and Sub Registrar offices in Sriperumbudur and Anna Nagar informing them that the factory should not be alienated without the knowledge of I-T department. Nokia India owes lots of amount to the department by way of taxes and hence the assets should not be registered. As the previous attachment order of assets expired on Monday, the department extended it by six more months, the sources said.
