The Power Ministry, on Thursday, said there would be no change in the present bidding norms for the upcoming imported coal-fired power projects, a development that might hurt interests of private power producers. The Ministry, on Thursday, provisionally finalised the new standard bidding documents for the upcoming thermal power projects.
“For imported coal-based projects, we have not envisaged any change, whereas the documents for domestic fuel-based projects would take care of risks in terms of fuel availability and price escalation,” Power Secretary P. Uma Shankar told reporters.
