The Spices Board, keen on resuming the stalled cardamom auctions from December 26, on Wednesday appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate in recommencing the business in view of peak cardamom exports from the country.

The board in a statement requested all farmers' associations, auctioneers and traders to participate in the December 23 meeting and help in resuming the auctions.

The board said the suspension of auctions following the Mullaperiyar issue had resulted in misery to farmers and other stakeholders and wanted everyone to join hands to address the issues involved. It also reiterated that around 100 tonnes of cardamom were ready with the farmers to be auctioned off.
