Apollo Hospitals Group has gone in for a major re-organisation of its top leadership with the twin objective of accelerating growth and furthering its strategic goals.

As part of the re-jig process, four executive directors have been re-designated and assigned greater roles.

Preetha Reddy, Managing Director, and Shobana Kamineni, Executive Director (Special Initiatives), have been re-designated as Executive Vice-Chairpersons of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited.

Suneeta Reddy, Joint Managing Director, is now re-designated as the Managing Director of the company. Sangita Reddy, Executive Director (Operations), will be the new Joint Managing Director.

Strategic rejig Terming these changes as a ‘strategic re-alignment’, Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, said that these were necessitated in the light of expansion of the healthcare landscape within the country and outside.

“This strategic re-alignment will enable Apollo to focus on growth opportunities in hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and health insurance while furthering its clinical leadership and service excellence,’’ he added.

Dr. Reddy said Apollo would deepen its focus in each of these verticals. At the same time, it would drive synergies between them using technology and an ecosystem focused on wellness, innovation and productivity.

The revamp, he said, was designed to maximize the growth as envisaged in the strategy, which was developed in close co-ordination with all stakeholders, including external consultants.

“Our greatest asset is the trust that 40 million patients from 120 countries have reposed in our clinical acumen since our inception. This, in turn, increases our responsibility to deliver even greater care to our patients and customers as well as our committed family of over 70,000 members along with a team of over 8,000 highly skilled doctors,’’ Dr. Reddy said.

“As Executive Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Preetha Reddy will work closely with the organisation’s 8,000 clinicians in reviewing global medical advancements and in introducing contemporary protocols to further enhance clinical outcomes,’’ said a release.

Executive Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Shobana Kamineni will continue to spearhead Apollo Pharmacy-related initiatives. “Ms. Shobana will oversee the planning, design and execution of new projects, and lead the Apollo Global Projects Consultancy Division,’’ the release said. Ms. Shobana will continue to be a Whole-Time Director on the board of Apollo Munich Health Insurance.

Ms. Suneeta Reddy will lead the corporate strategy, corporate finance, funding and investments. Ms. Suneeta will directly steer the hospital vertical, and also handle brand and marketing.

As Joint Managing Director, Ms. Sangita Reddy is also entrusted with the job of creating an IT-enabled patient-centric operation across the Apollo footprint. “In growing the group’s retail healthcare foray, Sangita will also spearhead Retail Health, including Health & Lifestyle under Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd., the company running Clinics, Cradles and other retail service formats,’’ the release said.

“We see enormous growth opportunities on which Apollo can capitalize; this restructuring will further facilitate our objective of leveraging on the company’s leadership and current business assets and platforms to execute against these opportunities,” Dr. Reddy said.

The board of the company, on Wednesday, also approved the appointment of Vinayak Chatterjee as an additional director with effect from July 2.

He will hold office as an independent director of the company.

In the above report, an incorrect picture was used for Shobana Kamineni, who has been re-designated as Executive Vice-Chairperson. The error is regretted.
