Continuing with its tirade against the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani on Monday put the blame for the poor response to NELP-VIII at the doorstep of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry stating its interference in marketing and pricing dampened investor interest hurting the auction of oil and gas blocks.

Even as the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry put out the official figures on the latest round of auction, the Anil Ambani group on Monday claimed that this outcome had been predicted by Mr. Anil Ambani who had written a letter to the Prime Minister on October 9 regarding the mishandling of NELP-VIII by the Petroleum Ministry.

“The Ministry’s open interference by curtailing marketing and pricing freedom is the single biggest reason for lack of international investor interest,” Mr. Ambani said in his letter to Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
