Energy solutions provider Alstom on Wednesday said it has won a 27 million euro (USD 35 million) contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for supply of components and services for a power plant in Rajasthan.
“Alstom has been awarded a contract by BHEL to supply components and services for the 2x660 MW Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Project, located in Suratgarh, Rajasthan, India. The contract is worth approximately 27 million euro (USD 35 million),” the company said in a press statement.
As per the contract, Alstom will help BHEL in designing the boilers and supply identified pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers, along with windboxes. It will also assist BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the units.
Alstom said key components will be manufactured at its manufacturing facilities in Concordia (USA), as well as in Durgapur (India). The units I and II are expected to be commissioned by 2016.
