National carrier Air India's subsidiary Alliance Air on Friday said that it would start charging for meals served on board from Saturday at prices ranging from Rs. 40 to Rs. 100.
Alliance Air would also start a daily non-stop service connecting Port Blair to Delhi from Saturday.
In August last year, the airline had started `Buy On Board' meals on all its flights, except those between Delhi and Port Blair, Guwahati, Surat and Vadodara.
Alliance Air, started with the purpose of providing connectivity to the northeast and other far-flung areas in the country, has a fleet of four Bombardier CRJ 700s which can seat 74 passengers and six ATR-42 aircraft with a seating capacity of 48.
